Che cosa hanno di speciale le auto classiche? Chiediamo agli appassionati di The ICE St. Moritz!

What is special about classic cars? We ask fans of The ICE St. Moritz!

There are places in the world where the extraordinary just seems… normal. Take, for example, some of the most beautiful classic cars in the world, and imagine them speeding across a frozen lake in the middle of the mountains. Crazy, right? In fact, in St. Moritz, where we spent last weekend, it almost seems like any other day.

The Ice classic cars

As you may have guessed, we spent two days at The Ice St. Moritz, a concours d'elegance which, although it is only in its fourth edition, is already attracting the rarest cars on the planet. The tracked Porsche 356 that crossed Antarctica? There was. The Lamborghini Miura P400S “Millechiodi”, freshly restored? Idem. The Ferrari "Uovo", a unique example that belonged to Count Marzotto? On the ice, sideways.

The festive and familiar atmosphere, combined with the proverbial Swiss hospitality, made the event unforgettable - this year more than ever. There was genuine passion, with people from all over the world enraptured by the beauty in motion in the splendid Alpine setting. Choosing a favourite, among the many cars present, was not an easy matter: someone was bewitched by exciting custom-built cars such as the Lancia Stratos Zero or the Sibilo, presented by Lopresto; others, however, like photographer Chris Leustean, have shown a soft spot for the little Ferves Ranger from the Gin Engine distillery.

And just as tastes in cars are a personal matter, so is style - and all the gentlemen drivers we met on the lake proved it to us. From the classic outfits of Camillo Mekacher-Vögel of Asset Classic and Stefano Mereghetti of Tartarughino , to the vintage-inspired garments of Michele Lupi, creative director of Fay Archive, the lake was an impromptu catwalk for impeccably dressed car enthusiasts, and among them we could not have felt more comfortable!

Padded overshirts and merino wool bandanas kept us warm as we enjoyed our ice-cold drinks, and the freezing temperatures were the ideal proving ground for the first Formula Iozzi Workshop Jacket. What is it, you ask? You'll find out soon: big news is coming, and we can't wait to tell you about it!
