What is special about classic cars? We ask fans of The ICE St. Moritz!

Che cosa hanno di speciale le auto classiche? Chiediamo agli appassionati di The ICE St. Moritz!

There are places in the world where the extraordinary simply seems... normal. Take, for example, some of the most beautiful vintage cars in the world, and imagine them speeding across a frozen lake in the middle of the mountains. Crazy, right? In fact, in St. Moritz, where we spent last weekend, it almost seems like a day like any other.

The Ice classic cars

As you may have guessed, we spent two days at The Ice St. Moritz, a concours d'elegance which, although only in its fourth edition, already manages to attract the rarest cars on the planet. The tracked Porsche 356 that crossed Antarctica? There was. The Lamborghini Miura P400S “Millechiodi”, fresh from restoration? Idem. The Ferrari “Uovo”, a unique example that belonged to Count Marzotto? On the ice, sideways.

The festive and family atmosphere, combined with the proverbial Swiss hospitality, made the event unforgettable - this year more than ever. There was a genuine passion, with people from all over the world captivated by the beauty in motion in the splendid Alpine setting. Choosing a favourite, among the many cars present, was not easy: some were bewitched by exciting custom-built cars such as the Lancia Stratos Zero or the Sibilo, presented by Lopresto; others however, like the photographer Chris Leustean, showed a weakness for the little Ferves Ranger from the Gin Engine distillery.

And just as taste in cars is a personal matter, so too is style - and all the gentlemen drivers we met on the lake demonstrated this to us. From the classic outfits of Camillo Mekacher-Vögel of Asset Classic and Stefano Mereghetti of Tartarughino , to the vintage-inspired pieces of Michele Lupi, creative director of Fay Archive, the lake was an impromptu catwalk for impeccably dressed car enthusiasts, and We couldn't have felt more at ease among them!

Padded overshirts and merino wool bandanas kept us warm as we enjoyed our ice-cold drinks, and the freezing temperatures were the ideal testing ground for the first Formula Iozzi Workshop Jacket. What is it, you ask? You'll soon find out: big news is coming, and we can't wait to tell you about it!
